Beyond the will, within the hope

We were born free

But then we start to worry

In life, hope and fear come along

Yet we strive every time to stay strong

When boundaries are set

We wonder what freedom we could get

Laugh, smile, pride, and vibe

We hold them dear until the doctor begins to prescribe

Tear, anger, scream, and shame

We vent them because nobody is to blame

For we can still rise and stand unfaltering

We bow to people's struggles that are unwavering

My name is Humam, and I am a risk analyst at Caceis NL in Amsterdam and a lecturer at UU in Utrecht. This time I am not only going to run at Utrecht Half Marathon (2024 edition), but also joining the force to fight against cancer. In light of my personal grand theme 2024 'Friendship, Gratitude, and Nature', I kindly ask us to reflect on our health and be grateful for standing strong until now. Think of friends with whom we travel and share moments, as well; for they make us who we are today. Also, we sometimes acquire long-lasting friendships in an unexpected fashion at an unknown place. This is a reminder that we are all connected, but no one is connecting. Join me here to help people in need out there to keep them connected with their loved ones.
