IronMan 70.3 in Les Sables d'Olonne for Cancer Research
My name is Stijn and I'm a sports enthusiast. Ever since I was young I have been obsessed with all kinds of sports. As I grew older I began to grow fond of endurance sports and constantly trying to extend my limit and run, cycle or swim further or faster. It has always been my ambition to put this admiration into practice and take part in an official triathlon. Over the coming months I will push myself to my physical limits in order to prepare myself in the best way possible for race day in July when I will swim 1,9km, cycle 90km and run 21,1km.
When I was 17 years old, my father was diagnosed with stomach cancer. After battling this disease for over a year, he eventually lost this battle and passed away. Every day my family and I would watch him push himself to the limits of his physical ability, involuntarily. I have the luxury to push myself to my physical ability voluntarily and would like to do so for my father, as well as other cancer patients. Therefore I will share my trainings, struggles and results working up to race day in order to raise as much money as possible to donate to cancer research. Will you help me!?
