From Newcomer to Runner: Fighting Cancer in the Netherlands
Hi, I’m I-Ying, and I’ve been living in the Netherlands almost two years. I’ve fallen in love with life in Utrecht, the beautiful streets and the welcoming people. This year, I started running, and by chance, I discovered the Utrecht Marathon. When I learned it’s a chance to raise funds to fight cancer, I knew I had to join in.
For me, this half marathon is more than just a race, it’s a way to give back to the society that has made me feel so at home, while pushing myself to achieve something big. Cancer is a huge challenge here in the Netherlands. One out of every two people will face a diagnosis in their lifetime. It’s a cause that touches us all, and I want to do my part to help.
