I am running the Amsterdam Marathon to fight cancer
Hi everyone,
This October 19th, I’ll be running the Amsterdam Marathon—my first full marathon—to raise critical funds for KWF (Dutch Cancer Society) and their cancer research.
Why this matters to me:
In my family, we carry the BRCA-2 gene and having seen my family battle cancer multiple times, I am taking on this challenge not only to push myself, but also to raise awareness and funds for life-saving research.
My journey so far:
- 🏊 Summer 2024: Swam 4km in open water to raise over 750 euro’s for cancer research (Swim to fight cancer).
- 🏃 June 2024: Ran the Brooklyn Half Marathon as a stepping stone.
- Now (October 19th): Taking on my biggest challenge yet—the Amsterdam Marathon—alongside my boss (and running buddy) Bernat!
