Walk against cancer during Maastrichts Mooiste Wandeling 2026 on 6th of June 2026. Which distance do you choose? These are your options: 10 Engelse Mijl, 10km en 5km. Register with KWF, raise the minimum of 500 euros before 1st of May 2026 and KWF rewards you with a free ticket.

How it works
Walk against cancer during the Maastrichts Mooiste Wandeling 2026. Alone or with a team of friends or colleagues. There are two ways to participate.
Start your fundraiser
1) Register via KWF Raise at least 500 euros by 1st of May 2026 and KWF will buy your ticket entry. Claim it before 7th of May 2026. You’ll also receive the exclusive Run Against Cancer shirt!
2) Buy your own ticket Create a fundraising page and start raising money. Reach 500 euros? Then you will be rewarded with an exclusive Run Against Cancer shirt too!
Share your fundraiser
The more people you involve, the faster you'll reach your goal. Share your personal story and explain why raising money for the Dutch Cancer Society (KWF) is important to you. Use social media platforms like Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, and WhatsApp to share your campaign. You'll be surprised by the support you receive.

With the Maastrichts Mooiste Wandeling 2026, we raise money together to make groundbreaking research, prevention, and the best care possible.
Cancer affects us all. 1 in 2 people in the Netherlands will face it at some point in their lives. And whether you have it yourself or someone you care about does, cancer disrupts your life.
Better life during and after cancer
That’s why KWF is committed not only to fighting the disease but also to improving life during and after cancer. We do this by funding life-saving research and supporting initiatives that directly help patients and their loved ones. Together, we strive for less cancer, more cures, and a better quality of life for everyone affected by cancer.
FAQ
How much is the registration fee?
We don't charge a registration fee for participating in the Walk Against Cancer campaign. You can participate in two ways:
1) Register through KWF for a distance of your choice and collect at least 500 euros by 1st of May 2026. You'll then receive a KWF entry ticket and a unique Walk Against Cancer shirt (you'll receive the shirt once you've collected 500 euros). If you're unable to make it, you can purchase your ticket via Maastrichts Mooiste Wandeling 2026.
2) Register at Maastrichts Mooiste Wandeling 2026 and create a Walk Against Cancer fundraising page. There's no minimum amount required. If you collect more than 500 euros, you'll receive the Walk Against Cancer shirt! Please note: we do not reimburse tickets purchased by you.
How do I get my ticket?
After you have collected 500 euros you will receive an email with instructions on how to redeem the ticket. With this you will officially register for your event. Make sure you do this before 7th of May 2026. If you have not redeemed your ticket before this time, your ticket will expire.
Can someone else walk for me if I am unexpectedly unable to do so?
Yes, that's possible. However, if it's close to the event, it might not be possible to change the name on the entry form. Please contact us about this via wandeltegenkanker@kwf.nl
Can I also change my distance?
Yes, that's possible, as long as there are still tickets available for the distance you want to run. Please note that the start numbers will be printed at a certain time. After that time, it's no longer possible to exchange them.

I registered individually but I'm part of a team. Can you change this?
Yes, we can adjust that. Just send us an email at wandeltegenkanker@kwf.nl.
How many walkers can you assemble a team of? And is there a maximum number of participants?
From two persons. There is no limit on how many participants can be part of a team.
What time does the various distances start?
You can find this information on the website of the event you are participating in.
I'm cancelling my participation. Can I get my donations back?
No, if you decide not to participate after you have registered, the funds already raised will not be refunded.
When do I have to redeem my ticket?
Redeem your ticket before 7th of May 2026. Not redeemed on time = no ticket.
I've already purchased a ticket. Can I get a refund once I've redeemed my 500 euros?
No, tickets already purchased will not be refunded.
I've raised much more than 500 euros. Can I now participate for free in another event?
The proceeds from your campaign are tied to a single event. Want to participate in Walk Against Cancer again? Simply register for that event and raise the minimum sponsorship amount there as well.
I want to register a team. How does that work?
Creating a team takes just a few simple steps:
- Register: Sign up and get a personalized fundraising page for your event.
- Create a team: Go to your dashboard, select "Create a team," and follow the steps.
- Invite team members: Send the unique invitation link to your team members.
- Fundraise: Share your team page, ask for donations, and celebrate your impact together!
How do I invite team members to my team?
Log in to your dashboard and go to "My Team." You'll find your unique invitation link there. Share it via email, WhatsApp, or social media, and watch new team members join!
I'm participating with a team. How much money do we need to raise to get a free ticket from KWF?
Make sure your team collects an average of at least 500 euros per person via the team page by 1st of May 2026. This average applies to the entire team. Voucher codes for free tickets will be sent once the average of 500 euros per team member has been reached.
Example:
- Your team consists of 4 people. In that case, at least 4 × 500 euros must be listed on the team page before the deadline.
- The amount can be distributed unevenly, as long as the average per team member is at least .
I want to join a team. How does that work?
You can join in two ways:
- Public team: Click the "Join my team" button on the team page and complete the registration process. In two steps, you'll have your own campaign page and be a member of the team.
- Closed team: Receive an invitation link from the team captain, click it, and complete the registration process. In two steps, you'll be part of the team and can start fundraising right away.

How much sponsorship money do I need to raise to get a free starting ticket?
We're asking you to raise €500. If you're walking as a team, the goal is to raise an average of €500 per person.
What if I don't reach the sponsorship amount? Am I not allowed to participate?
We ask you to raise €500 by 1 mei 2026. If you can't manage that, make sure you buy a ticket through the organizers in time.
If I walk with my own team, is the idea also to raise 500 euros per person in sponsorship money?
Yes, if you've registered with KWF and receive your entry ticket through us, this amount applies to everyone. This includes team members. The advantage of walking with a team is that you can share the sponsorship money, so everyone raises an average of €500.
I received a donation confirmation email, but it's not registered on my page, and the amount has been debited from my sponsor. Can you add this amount to my donations?
Yes, that's possible. Ask your sponsor for a screenshot of the donation from their statement and email it to us via wandeltegenkanker@kwf.nl. The statement contains a KRI number that makes it easy for us to trace this donation and link it to your sponsor page. It also serves as proof for us that the donation has actually been debited.
I'm no longer receiving donation confirmation emails, or they're suddenly going to my spam folder. Can I do anything about this?
Check your spam folder and mark KWF emails as spam. You can also email wandeltegenkanker@kwf.nl.
Until when can donations be made on my page? How long after the event will the page remain active?
Donations can be made up to four weeks after the event, after which the page will close. You will receive a notification when the page closes.
I sponsored a participant, but they didn't complete their action. Will I get my donation back?
Donations are non-refundable. Even if participation is cancelled due to exceptional circumstances, including but not limited to weather conditions and (local) government decrees, donations made through the campaign platform will not be refunded. Donations will be used to support the objectives of the Dutch Cancer Society (KWF).
Fundraising with a QR code. How does it work?
- Log in to your account
- Go to your dashboard
- Choose: Edit my page
- Scroll down
- Click: Download QR code or QR poster
- Save your QR code as a PDF
- Share your QR code with your friends and hang the poster anywhere
My employer wants to sponsor me. How does that work?
We prefer to receive donations through your fundraising page. Your employer will receive an email confirming payment at the email address you provided.
If you are unable to transfer the donation through your fundraising page, please send us the following information at wandeltegenkanker@kwf.nl:
- Company name
- Contact person's name
- Donation amount
We will then create a donation request (invoice). This request will include a reference number linked to your fundraising campaign. This invoice can be paid by bank transfer. Once the donation has been credited to our account, we will manually add it to your fundraising page.
Is it safe to donate via a KWF QR code?
Yes. All QR codes used by campaigners via acties.kwf.nl are linked to our official and secure payment environment. Scanning a code always takes you to a web address ending in .kwf.nl. This ensures your donation actually reaches KWF. Payments are also processed through a recognized payment provider and a secure connection (https), ensuring your payment information is well-protected.
When will I receive my Walk Against Cancer shirt? Will you send it, or can I pick it up somewhere?
Once the 500 euros has been collected, the shirt will be shipped to the address provided by you on registration.
I received my shirt, but it's not the right size. Can I still exchange it?
Yes, that's possible. If you're on time, you can still do so before the event, or on the day itself at the Walk Against Cancer booth. Email us at wandeltegenkanker@kwf.nl to let us know the correct size. You'll also receive the return address so you can return the "incorrect" shirt without paying postage.
Can I also have my own logos printed on the Walk Against Cancer shirt?
Yes, that's allowed. These costs are for the participant. You also have to get the prints yourself.
Is it mandatory to wear the Walk Against Cancer shirt? Or can I wear my own shirt?
It's not mandatory, but it's great for the image of the Walk Against Cancer and for team spirit if everyone wears their own shirt. This way, you'll also be recognizable to the KWF staff. We'll also immediately recognize the Walk Against Cancer runners at the finish line.
I would like to buy a Walk Against Cancer shirt, is that possible?
No, this shirt isn't for sale. You can earn it by raising at least 500 euros for your Walk Against Cancer campaign.
What size shirt should I order?
The woman shirts run small, order a size larger than you are used to.
