Walk Against Cancer and the Dutch Cancer Society
Walk Against Cancer is an initiative of the Queen Wilhelmina Fund for the Dutch Cancer Society, abbreviated as "KWF".
By participating in Walk Against Cancer, you are taking action for the Dutch Cancer Society through the KWF Action Platform and supporting our mission: less cancer, more cures, and a better quality of life for cancer patients.
By registering for Walk Against Cancer and thus taking action for the Dutch Cancer Society, you agree to our general terms and conditions. You can find these here.
In addition, the following terms and conditions apply to all Walk Against Cancer events:
-
Participants
Anyone aged 18 and older can participate in Walk Against Cancer.
As a participant, you are an ambassador for the Dutch Cancer Society. Therefore, it is important that you consider our mission when participating: less cancer, a greater chance of recovery, and a better quality of life.
As a participant, you respect the objectives of the Dutch Cancer Society and our focus on a healthy lifestyle. This means we do not want to be associated with smoking, the tobacco industry, or alcohol. Therefore, your activities will not involve any collaboration with organizations active in this sector.

Registration and Fundraising
When you register for the Walk Against Cancer campaign, you will receive a personal fundraising page. Through this page, you can encourage your network to donate to the Dutch Cancer Society (KWF) and help raise your target amount.
To be eligible for a starting ticket through the Dutch Cancer Society and a Walk Against Cancer shirt, you must have raised at least 500 euro in donations by the 29 januari 2026 deadline. You will then not pay any registration fees for the sporting event. If you have not raised the minimum target amount by the deadline, you will need to purchase a starting ticket from the sporting event organizers.
Are you participating with a team? Make sure your team raises an average of at least 500 euro euros per person via the team page before the deadline. This average applies to the entire team.
Example:
- Your team consists of 4 people. Then at least 4 x 500 euro must be displayed on the team page before the deadline.
The amount may be distributed unevenly, as long as the average per team member is at least 500 euro. - The amount may be distributed unevenly, as long as the average per team member is at least 500 euro.
Make sure you have redeemed your bib number with the sporting event organizers by 13 februari 2026. The bib numbers will be printed approximately 6 weeks before the event. If you redeem them after that date, your name will not appear on the bib number.
If you purchase your bib number directly from the sporting event organizers, you will receive a Walk Against Cancer shirt with a minimum of €500 in sponsorship.

Use the KWF logo

Secure your starting ticket
The sporting events that Wandel tegen kanker participates in are very popular, and the number of starting tickets is limited. There's often even a waiting list.
To keep your spot, it's important to raise donations within two months of registering. If you're unable to do so, the Dutch Cancer Society (KWF) reserves the right to delete your fundraising page and release your starting ticket to someone on the waiting list.
How can you prevent this?
- Start raising donations immediately after creating your fundraising page. For example, make a donation to yourself to show you're serious.
- Make sure you reach your target amount before the deadline.
If you don't start raising donations in time, you'll receive an email warning before your starting ticket is revoked.
-
Donations
The donations you raise are for the Dutch Cancer Society (KWF). The KWF uses the collected donations for its objectives.
If you decide to no longer participate in Walk Against Cancer, any donations already raised will not be refunded. This applies even if the sporting event is cancelled for any reason.
-
