Run against cancer and KWF

Run against cancer is an initiative of the Queen Wilhelmina Fund for the Dutch Cancer Society, abbreviated as “KWF”.

When you participate in Run against cancer, you take action for KWF via the KWF Action Platform and support our mission: less cancer, more cures and a better quality of life for cancer patients.

By registering for Run against cancer, you agree to these conditions:

  1. Participants

Everyone aged 18 and over can participate in Run against cancer.

As a participant, you are an ambassador for KWF. It is therefore important that you take our mission into account when participating: less cancer, a greater chance of recovery and a better quality of life.

As a participant, you respect the objectives of KWF and our focus on a healthy lifestyle. This means that we do not want to be associated with smoking, the tobacco industry and alcohol. That is why you do not collaborate with organisations that are active in this sector within your activities.

  1. Registration and Recruitment

When you register for Run against cancer, you will receive a personal action page. Via this page, you can call on your network to donate to KWF and thus raise your target amount.

To be eligible for a starting ticket via KWF and a Run against cancer shirt, you must have raised at least 29 januari 2026 in donations by 500 euro You will then not pay any registration fees for the sporting event. If you have not raised the minimum target amount before the deadline, you can purchase a starting ticket yourself from the organisation of the sporting event.

Are you participating with a team? Then make sure that your team raises at least 500 euro per person on average via the team page before the deadline. This average applies to the entire team.

Example:

  • Your team consists of 4 people. Then there must be at least 4 × €500 = €2000 on the team page before the deadline.
  • The amount may be divided unevenly, as long as the average per team member is at least500 euro.

Make sure that you have redeemed your starting ticket with the organization of the sporting event no later than 13 februari 2026. The starting numbers will be printed approximately 6 weeks before the event. If you redeem after that date, your name will not be on the starting number.

If you purchase the starting ticket yourself from the organization of the sporting event, you will receive a Run against Cancer shirt with at least 500 euro sponsorship money.

  1. Use KWF-logo

We provide various campaign materials for sharing your campaign page. Including the special KWF-campaign logo. The guidelines for using the logo can be found here. If you have any doubts or questions, please contact us via rentegenkanker@kwf.nl.

  1. Secure a starting ticket

The sporting events in which Run against Cancer participates are very popular and the number of starting tickets is limited. There is often even a waiting list.

In order to keep your place, it is important to raise donations within 2 months of your registration. If this does not work, KWF reserves the right to remove your campaign page and release your starting ticket to someone on the waiting list.

How do you prevent this?

  • Start raising donations immediately after you have created your campaign page. For example, make a donation to yourself to show that you are serious.
  • Make sure that you have reached the target amount before the deadline.

If you do not start raising donations on time, you will receive a warning from us by e-mail before your starting ticket is withdrawn.

  1. Donations

The donations that you raise are for KWF. KWF uses the raised donations for its objectives.

If you decide not to participate in Run against Cancer anymore, donations that have already been raised will not be refunded. Not even if the sporting event cannot go ahead for whatever reason.

  1. Communication

We will keep you informed about the Run against Cancer and the sporting event via email and text message. So make sure we have your correct email address and mobile number so that you don't miss anything.

To prevent you from missing important information, mark KWF as a safe sender: this way our email won't end up in your SPAM.

Do you no longer want to receive emails about the Run against Cancer? Then unsubscribe via the unsubscribe link in the emails. You will be unsubscribed immediately and will no longer receive any communication from the Run against Cancer.
