That is what scientific research is all about as far as we are concerned. Research that leads to earlier detection, better treatments and optimal care for everyone affected by cancer. Thanks to scientific breakthroughs, more and more people are surviving cancer. Or improve their quality of life if they do not get better. That is why KWF continues to invest unabatedly in research. Run against cancer during the and contribute to our mission.

Donate for groundbreaking research

The proceeds will go towards groundbreaking cancer research and better care for everyone affected by cancer, as well as supporting Het Praethuys in Alkmaar, a welcoming centre offering support and a place to talk for people living with and beyond cancer. 

’t Praethuys – Care, Information and Inspiration

When you are affected by cancer, life can feel unsteady. This applies not only to the person diagnosed, but also to family members and loved ones. For them (ages 6–85), the front door of ’t Praethuys in Alkmaar is open from Monday through Thursday. Visitors are welcome free of charge for a conversation—and above all, a listening ear—with one of the knowledgeable volunteers. In addition, the house offers various peer-support groups and activities focused on relaxation and creativity. Support ’t Praethuys in Alkmaar and support our mission: “You don’t have to do it alone.”
