In October, I will be running the Amsterdam Marathon in support of cancer research, a cause that is deeply close to my heart. I am taking part in memory of my grandmother, who passed away in January 2025 after a courageous fight against cancer.

This will be my first full marathon, and it represents a significant personal challenge for me — both physically and mentally. I chose the Amsterdam Marathon very deliberately: the race takes place around 11 October, which would have been my grandmother’s birthday. She was born on 11 October 1943, and running on such a symbolic date feels like a meaningful way to honour her life, her strength, and the love she gave to our family.

Cancer affects millions of people every year — not only those diagnosed, but also their families and loved ones. Thanks to research, prevention, early diagnosis and treatments continue to improve, but there is still so much work to be done. By supporting cancer research, you are helping fund vital work that saves lives and brings hope to future generations.

I have committed to raising €750, and every contribution — big or small — truly makes a difference.

En octobre, je vais courir le Marathon d’Amsterdam afin de soutenir la recherche contre le cancer, une cause qui me tient particulièrement à cœur. Je participerai à cette course en mémoire de ma grand-mère, qui nous a quittés en janvier 2025 après un courageux combat contre la maladie.

Ce sera mon tout premier marathon, et il représentera pour moi un véritable défi, à la fois physique et mental. J’ai choisi le Marathon d’Amsterdam de manière très intentionnelle : la course a lieu autour du 11 octobre, date correspondant à l’anniversaire de ma grand-mère, née le 11 octobre 1943. Courir à cette période est pour moi une manière très symbolique d’honorer sa vie, sa force et l’amour qu’elle a transmis à notre famille.

Le cancer touche des millions de personnes chaque année — non seulement les personnes malades, mais aussi leurs proches. Grâce à la recherche, la prévention, le diagnostic précoce et les traitements continuent de progresser, mais il reste encore beaucoup à faire. Soutenir la recherche contre le cancer, c’est contribuer à des travaux essentiels qui sauvent des vies et donnent de l’espoir aux générations futures.

Je me suis engagé à collecter 750 €, et chaque don — quel que soit son montant — compte réellement.
