Ik ren tegen kanker tijdens HiPRO Utrecht Marathon 2026
I'm running against cancer during the HiPRO Utrecht Marathon 2026. Will you sponsor me? Together with the Dutch Cancer Society (KWF), we'll help create a better life with and after cancer. This is desperately needed, because everyone will be affected by cancer at some point. I'm not running for someone in particular, I do it for myself and use this opportunity to support the cause.

Monday 2nd Mar 2026To give you a little more background information:
I have started running seriously in October of 2023 as a challenge to myself.
My company has always joined the Enschede Marathon and we could see who is joining. As a woman in a male dominated environment I wanted to go a bit above the distance regularily chosen by the ladies (5K), so I decided to start with 10K as the vast majotity of my untrained male counterparts.
Ever since, I have participated in a running event each year and completed 2 half marathons in 2024.
This year I wanted to skip the running events as I was working on other fitness goals. This decission has changed once I was packing to mobe apartments, as I came across my medals and actively realised that I has at least one medal for each year.
When I was subscribing for the marathon I noticed the fund raiser against cancer and thought to myself "Why not? I am running anywas... Maybe this way I can support a good cause".
And this brings me to today and my request to support the cause. Most probably we all know a few people who have been touched by cancer and its claws one way or another, either directly or indirectly.
