In January, I want to take part in HYROX Amsterdam through KWF, the Dutch Cancer Society.

My goal is to raise €750 to support cancer research and care for people affected by cancer. If I reach that target, I can participate in the HYROX race. HYROX works with KWF to offer entry to participants who meet their fundraising goal as an incentive to raise money for charity.

Like many people, I have known people who have been diagnosed with cancer and struggled with the disease. It is far too common; 1 in 2 people in the Netherlands will develop cancer in their lifetime.

I want to do something that contributes to the fight against cancer. KWF has been working against cancer for more than 75 years and is officially recognized by the CBF, the independent Dutch body that checks whether charities are well run and use donations responsibly. Any donation made through my page goes directly to KWF.

KWF is Dutch, but the research it supports is part of a much wider international effort. It works with cancer organizations and researchers worldwide, including the American Cancer Society, and research funded in one country can help improve prevention and treatment around the world.
