Brain cancer research
In August 2024, two sudden seizures turned my life upside down. Scans revealed a large tumour in my left frontal lobe. A few weeks later, I underwent 8 hours of awake brain surgery to successfully remove majority of the tumour. This was later diagnosed as a Grade 2 Astrocytoma, currently there is no cure for this type of tumour. Recovery was intense, for two days I couldn’t speak or move my right side, but with rehab I bounced back quickly.
I’m now on daily medication to stop the tumour growing, still coaching tennis, running, and living life as fully as I can. But brain cancer research needs urgent funding as it’s far more common than most people realise.
So, I’m running a marathon to raise money for research. My goal is €750, but the more we raise, the more impact we make. Even the cost of your daily coffee can help.
Every step I take is for a future with better treatments and hope for those facing this diagnosis.
Please donate and help me make a difference!
