Will you help me run for something bigger than a finish line?

On 12 April I’m running my very first marathon in my now second hometown of Rotterdam, 42.2 kilometres, and I’m doing it for my grandpa. 💛

Three years ago, we lost him to lung cancer. He was the kind of person who made every room warmer, and not a day goes by that I don’t wish I could call him, tell him about my training, and hear him tell me I’m crazy and that he’s proud of me anyway. I can’t do that, but I can run for him. Every long run, every early morning, every moment when my legs say stop, he’s the reason I keep going.

Together with KWF, I’m raising money for cancer research, because every breakthrough means more time for someone’s grandparent, dad,mum, friend or child. Research is how we change the ending for the next family.

And here’s where you come in. You don’t have to give 50 euros. Honestly, you don’t even have to give 20. Five euros is enough, literally a coffee. Skip one cappuccino and you’ve helped fund research that could save a life. (Your barista will survive, I promise. And I’ll be running the whole way on pure spite and pasta, so I’ll need the good karma.)

Small donations add up fast. Fifty people giving five euros is already a real difference, and I know I have far more than fifty amazing people in my life.
