Every Kilometre Counts
Cancer doesn’t take a break, and neither can we. Globally, around 20 million people are diagnosed with cancer each year, which works out to roughly 38 new diagnoses every minute, or about 190 every five minutes. That means, on average, for every kilometre I run in the Amsterdam Marathon (42 kilometres in total), four to five more people will hear the words "You have cancer." By running for KWF, the Dutch Cancer Society, I am not just covering distance; I am helping to fund life-saving research, prevention, and care that has an impact around the world. Your support, whether big or small, helps challenge that reality and brings us closer to a future where fewer lives are devastated by this disease.
