Introduction
Hey Everyone,
My name is Lorelei, and I’ve decided to take on the challenge of the Amsterdam Marathon 2026! Running a marathon has been on my bucket list for a long time now and what makes it even more meaningful is that I’ll be running it alongside my mum, and in support of the incredible work of the Dutch Cancer Society (KWF).
Cancer is something that touches almost everyone. If not directly, to someone you love. It’s affected the lives of so many and there is so much yet to be discovered about it. It truly is an honour to raise money for the Dutch Cancer Society, an incredible organisation, and hopefully with your help we can raise funding for more research, for better treatments, stronger outcomes and hopefully one day a cure.
With every run I do for training and every step I take on the day, I will be thinking of those I know who have faced the battle of cancer, and the families whose lives have been forever changed. We lost our Granda to cancer and I will be thinking of him, and of the others, myself and my friends have lost to this disease. I will be running this marathon in their honour.
