Some of you may know that my father, Phil Bruno, passed away rather suddenly from a heart condition last year.
I have taken this quite personally, and wanted to start not only working towards living a lifestyle that will hopefully bring me to a different outcome, but also supporting causes that do the same for other people.

My dad was awesome, and I lost him several decades before what should have been his time. I don't think anyone should have to go through this with any terminal condition.

I am under no illusions. Even with two and a half months to prepare, this is going to be a struggle for me. If you're a friend, a colleague, or just want to see an overweight guy who had a two year phase where he enjoyed long distance running pretend that he's "still got it", please consider throwing a few bones the way of my page. Fuck cancer. Help me honor my dad. Laugh at a fat American. Let's get it!

Okay yeah, and I'm only doing the 10km loop because the half marathon was sold out.
