Ik wandel tegen kanker tijdens de Light Walk voor KWF 2026
Just over a month ago, I lost a dear friend to cancer. I miss her big, infectious laugh, her wit and all the sharp, funny things she used to say that I wish I had written down.
One of her last wishes was for donations to KWF. So rather than just doing that, I will take part in the Light Walk for KWF on 21 November and hopefully raise a bit more money to help move research forward, as that research is so badly needed.
Why? Because one in two people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. A statistic many of us would rather close our eyes to, myself included. But instead, perhaps we need to keep looking at what we can do to support research that can lead to better treatments and better outcomes, so that one day fewer people will have to miss someone they love because of cancer.
