I’m incredibly excited to be running my very first marathon in the beautiful City of Canals. I still can’t quite believe that I registered for my first-ever marathon within a year of getting into running. It’s been a journey full of early mornings, tired legs, and pushing through discomfort after long, busy weeks—often sacrificing weekend plans. But every step has been worth it.

I’m especially proud to be running in support of the KWF Dutch Cancer Society, an organization dedicated to funding vital cancer research, improving treatment and care, and supporting people affected by cancer. Their work brings hope to millions of individuals and families, helping to move us closer to a future where cancer no longer has such a devastating impact on lives.

Cancer touches so many of us, whether personally or through the people we care about. That’s what makes this challenge more than just a race for me. Every kilometre I run represents support for those battling cancer, those who have overcome it, and the families and friends who stand beside them every day.

Thank you so much for supporting me on this journey. Watching people cross the finish line of a marathon has always been emotional and inspiring. I could see the determination, resilience, and joy in every runner, and I dreamed of one day experiencing that moment myself. The thought of tackling 42.2 km is still overwhelming—especially when half marathons already push me to my limits—but I’m excited for the challenge and the opportunity to make a difference along the way.
