Birthday run for stem cell transplant birthdays during TCS Amsterdam Marathon 2026
I am going to run the half marathon on my birthday to raise awareness for blood cancer and hopefully make more stem cell transplant birthdays possible. When my mom was diagnosed with an aggressive form of breast cancer a few years back, we were glad to hear that new therapies had been developed which greatly increased her chances of survival. Thankfully she made it through but this year we were told she has high risk MDS and her one shot at life is a stem cell transplant. I hope my mom can find a match and have her stem cell birthday before it’s too late. Research into blood cancer and stem cell transplants has been crucial to improving survival rates. Donors are absolutely vital and if you cannot sponsor me financially please please please consider signing up as a stem cell donor, you might just give someone a second chance at life.
