Hi 👋 I’m Gerald. By day I’m a software developer, professionally paid to fix other people’s bugs.
Apparently that skill doesn’t transfer to fixing your own knees, which have started making sound effects I didn’t sign up for.
This year I'm turning 40 and, instead of quietly accepting that, decided the mature response was signing up for HYROX with my buddy Mark. Running, sleds, wall balls, and a fair amount of regret, should be a great time. And it was either this or buy a convertible.
Here’s the part that actually matters though: cancer isn’t a bug you can just patch and deploy a fix for. It’s touched people close to me, and statistically, close to you too. So this slightly ridiculous midlife adventure is doubling as a fundraiser for KWF’s fight against cancer.
