The Venlo Half Marathon is done — what an incredible atmosphere!

I am especially proud to have run this one as a charity runner and to have gone sub-2 hours. Even more meaningful, together we raised €656 for the KWF foundation!

A huge thank you to everyone who supported this initiative — through donations, encouragement, or cheering along the way. Your support made this experience truly special and much bigger than just a race.

Thanks to your amazing support, we reached the initial goal in just one week! Seeing how much we have achieved together, I have decided to continue the fundraiser and raise the goal to 700 EUR so we can help even more people.

Wow, what a start!
I honestly did not expect to reach 50% of my goal on the very first day. This is truly mind-blowing.
A massive thank you to everyone who donated so far. Your support means a lot and gives this challenge an even deeper meaning. 
I hope this is just the beginning and that together we will not only reach the target, but go far beyond it.
Sky is the limit!

Running has become one of my biggest passions. I run to stay healthy, but it also helps me clear my mind - especially after long and stressful days. This autumn I completed my first-ever half marathon in Dortmund, and as many runners say, once you start, you want more. That is exactly what happened to me, and I am already preparing for my next challenge: the Venlo Half Marathon in March 2026.
This time, I want my challenge to have a deeper meaning.
Some years ago, my family received support from a fundraising initiative when my niece in Poland was diagnosed with leukemia. Sadly, her long fight with cancer ended without the outcome we all hoped for. This experience made a huge impact on me, and it motivates me to help others facing similar battles.
That is why I have registered with KWF (Dutch Cancer Society). Their mission is to fight cancer and support those affected. I have committed to raising a minimum of €500 by 29 January 2026. By reaching this goal, we can contribute to important cancer research and patient support - and it will also allow me to participate in the Venlo Half Marathon as a charity runner.
