Cancer can hit anyone.

I am a medical student, I've met people I'll never forget. A middle-aged man with end-stage melanoma, isolated in unit, with a massive tumor on his face. Old doctor who treated others, but developed multiple myeloma himself, and young woman with untreated HPV cancer. And outside the hospital, my own aunt, who worked her whole life as a judge, was diagnosed with polycythemia vera.

Cancer stole their lifetime. Time with family. Time for joy. Time to simply live.
