I'm running against cancer during TCS Amsterdam Marathon 2026
A few years ago, cancer took Gülengül, my best friend's mother and someone who felt like a second mother to me. After a long and courageous fight, she passed away, leaving behind a legacy of strength, kindness, and dedication to cancer research. This marathon is my way of honoring her, and everyone whose lives have been changed by this disease.
Every step of the marathon represents more than endurance. It represents love, remembrance, and the choice to keep moving forward even after loss. Running becomes a way to give meaning to grief and to stand behind the research that gives families hope when they need it most.
